Our Mission Statement

The mission of Wood Green New Testament Church of God is that which has been given to the whole Christian church, by the Lord Jesus Christ – to make disciples of all nations. Disciples of Jesus Christ are His apprentices who continuously and persistently seek to reflect His character as they grow and develop in His teachings and lifestyle. In fulfilling this mission, the programmes and activities of this church are guided by the following principles:

Breaking Bread

1

Growing in the love and grace of Jesus Christ, by availing oneself to His teachings, so that said teachings will transform one’s character, informing thoughts, words and actions through the internal workings of the Holy Spirit and the ministries of the church.

2

Giving attention to personal piety and the stewardship of one’s resources, participating in the Christian congregation as a means of divine instructions, believers’ fellowship and Christian growth; as well as holding out to the world that the church, as gathered, is one of God’s witnesses to the resurrection and second coming of Jesus Christ.

3

Acknowledging that all giftings, skills and abilities are given by God for the advancement and edification of the church and, as such, must be developed, used in the will of God and passed on to other believers who are able to utilise them and transmit them in the interest of the perpetuity of God’s church.

4

Being mobilised for, and equipped with the message of the gospel as the good news which points people to the gift of eternal life in Jesus Christ.

5

Being cognisant of the fact that all human beings are the image-bearers of God and are therefore equal in His sight and must be always treated as such. As the image-bearers of God, human beings are charged with the stewardship of God’s creation to preserve and protect it for posterity.

6

Being sensitive and responsive to the needs of the wider community, by reaching out to the poor, disenfranchised and dispossessed, through personal empowerment, charity and compassion; and being an envoy of peace, justice and love to the whole human race.

7

Recognising and fostering the ecumenical body of all believers in Jesus Christ, the communion of the saints and the unity in diversity in Christian worship.
