About Our Church

Wood Green New Testament Church of God (NTCG) is located at Arcadian Gardens, Wood Green, in North London.
The building was originally owned by the Congregational, United Reformed Church of St. James at Bowes, built between 1901 and 1909. The building was classified as a grade II listed building with Historic England.
The church was bought in 1977 by an amalgamation of the Tottenham NTCG and the Hornsey NTCG, under the leadership of the late Reverend Isaac Carter. The resulting structure was the Wood Green Church as the District Church, with the late Reverend Isaac Carter as pastor and District Overseer. The other churches on the District were: Harringay, Edmonton and East Ham. In 1991, the Harringay Church, with its pastor, the Reverend Guy Ricketts, amalgamated with the Wood Green Church, at which point, the Reverend Guy Ricketts was appointed the assistant pastor of the Wood Green Church. He later retired from active ministry.

Since its establishment, Wood Green New Testament Church of God has benefitted from the pastoral leadership of several ministers: The late Reverend Isaac Carter, Bishop Eric Brown and the late Bishop Barrington Burrell.
The current pastor and District Bishop is Bishop Trevor Smith.
As one of the flagship congregations of the New Testament Church of God in the United Kingdom, the church is comprised of a broad congregation of diverse cultures, backgrounds and age-groups, all working together as the salt and light of Jesus Christ in the Wood Green and surrounding communities.
All are welcome to share in the worship experience, the breaking of God’s words, the celebration of the sacraments and the church's guiding ethos and passion – to make disciples of Jesus Christ.
